Sexual Assault Awareness Month

Throughout the month of April, MOCSA will work in the community to raise awareness about sexual violence and to educate people about the prevention of sexual violence in their communities. Below are just a few of the events and ways you can get involved!

3/31 through 4/6: During the first week of SAAM, 10% of sales at Eclectics Gallery will go to support MOCSA's Art and Play Therapy programming. Eclectics is a local artists' co-op located at 7015 Oak Street in Kansas City. Check out their unique, creative, local and hand-made items all while supporting MOCSA!

4/1: SAAM Day of Action. MOCSA will be out in the community delivering posters to raise awareness of sexual assault. E-mail volunteer@mocsa.org if you're interested in helping us spread the word on the first day of SAAM!

4/3: MOCSA is hosting an Open House at our office at 3100 Broadway, Suite 400 in Kansas City. You'll have the opportunity to see our newly renovated office, our Art and Play Therapy rooms, meet the staff and see what they do on a daily basis. RSVP to swilliams@mocsa.org.

4/11: Wear Blue Day. Wear blue on April 11th to promote awareness of child abuse prevention.

4/15: MOCSA and the Kansas City Anti-Violence Project will host a screening of The Invisible War at LIKEME Lighthouse at 7 p.m. Join MOCSA staff and KCAVP staff for a Q&A after the screening of the film.

4/1 through 4/30: Throughout the month, follow @MOCSAkc on Twitter for a chance to win an iPad mini! Just tell us what Sexual Assault Awareness Month means to you. Learn more about details of the drawing and requirements on our Twitter page!
