Throughout its history, MOCSA has been an advocate for better treatment of sexual assault victims as they move through the medical, law enforcement, judicial, and social service systems, and for better communication among victim service agencies and institutions. Since MOCSA is recognized as the area's leading provider of services related to sexual assault, it is imperative that MOCSA coordinate with other community and human service organizations about sexual assault services and MOCSA procedures. This is accomplished through communicating and networking with agencies and professionals who often come in contact with sexual assault victims, i.e., police departments, hospital emergency rooms, prosecutors, schools, health professionals, mental health and community based agencies, battered women's shelters, youth services agencies, juvenile courts and the Division of Family Services. These agencies and professionals coordinate services and refer individuals needing attention and services to MOCSA.
